Job description:
Key Tasks:
- Work on residential construction and refurbishment projects, performing all painting duties and general labouring tasks as required.
- Prepare surfaces for painting (cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, or repairing as required).
- Apply paint, varnish, stain, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Mix and match paint colours to specifications.
- Set up and clean painting tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Assist tradespersons and team members on construction and renovation tasks.
- Perform general labouring duties including site clean-up, material handling, and deliveries.
- Operate power tools and equipment safely and as trained.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and report progress or issues as required.
- Support multiple project sites when needed.
- Adhere to Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) standards at all times and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Practical experience in the building/construction industry.
- Proven painting experience.
- Valid Driver’s Licence and Construction White Card.
- Motivated, punctual, and reliable with a positive attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, follow instructions, and problem-solve on the job.
- Desired: Experience in residential construction or refurbishment.
- Desired: Ability to operate spray-painting equipment or relevant tools.
