Job description:
Key Tasks:
- Inspect damaged vehicles to determine the extent of structural and body damage.
- Remove damaged panels, components, and parts using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Repair dents, bends, and distortions in vehicle panels using hand tools, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment.
- Align vehicle frames and body sections using chassis alignment systems.
- Fabricate, fit, and install replacement panels where required.
- Weld, rivet, bolt, and bond panels to vehicle structures.
- Prepare repaired surfaces for painting through sanding, filling, and smoothing.
- Reassemble vehicle components after repairs are completed.
- Ensure all repair work meets manufacturer specifications, Australian Design Rules, and quality standards.
- Accurately complete job cards, reports, and repair documentation.
- Maintain workshop cleanliness and proper use of tools and equipment.
Requirements:
- Trade qualification in Automotive Body Repair / Panel Beating (Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or equivalent).
- Minimum 2–3 years of post-qualification experience as a Panelbeater.
- Demonstrated experience repairing passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles.
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle body construction and repair methods.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and repair specifications.
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good time-management and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in multicultural workshop environments.
- Note: Candidates of Sri Lankan background are encouraged to apply, as their experience and cultural familiarity are considered a good fit for the existing workshop team.
- Desired: Previous work experience in the Middle East automotive repair industry.
- Desired: Experience working in a high-volume or fast-paced workshop environment.
