Job description:
Key Tasks:
- Determine product mix, stock levels, and service standards.
- Formulate and implement purchasing and marketing policies, and set prices.
- Promote and advertise the establishment's goods and services.
- Sell goods and services to customers and advise them on product use.
- Maintain records of stock levels and financial transactions.
- Undertake budgeting for the establishment.
- Control selection, training, and supervision of staff.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or proven leadership experience in a retail environment.
- Demonstrated experience with inventory control systems, POS systems, and bookkeeping software.
- Experience supervising, mentoring, and training staff within a Human Resources and Work Health & Safety framework.
- Strong decision-making capabilities under pressure and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Well-developed emotional intelligence and effective communication skills.
- Previous experience working and living in regional remote communities is desired.
- A sound knowledge of Indigenous culture and employment barriers within remote settings is desired.
